Project Description
RGP has been involved with the delivery of Aberdeen Gateway since Stockland and Muir purchased the land in 2006. Services have ranged from initial negotiations with the local authority and securing consent for the masterplan of the 50 acre site, to the delivery of several turnkey buildings for major companies.
Several facilities have been completed, most notable an office facility for National Oilwell Varco (NOV) and an office and production facility for Hydrasun. For NOV, the team delivered a high specification, fully fitted out, air conditioned office in excess of 33,000 sq.ft., with a 7,500 sq.ft. testing facility. Hydrasun manufacture and distribute specialist components for the Oil Industry form the new facility, which included high bay racking with laser guided forklifts, mezzanines with conveyer access and high pressure testing bays. As well as the 95,000 sq.ft. production facility, in excess of 20,000 sq.ft. of high quality office space over three floors was completed.
As well as securing detailed consent for the masterplanning and infrastructure works, now largely complete, we have secured a detailed consent for a new 177,500 sq.ft. head-quarters office building and recently completed a new test facility for the Driving Standards Agency.
We have worked closely with Aberdeen City Council on this project, evolving a detailed masterplan design brief for the site and the buildings which will inhabit it, to ensure a standard and consistency of design throughout the development.
