Earlier this year we were pleased to announce the successful planning application for The Gate House, Welwyn Garden City.
The building is located adjacent to the Howard Centre and forms a prominent introduction to the conservation area.
The project is being implemented in two phases. Phase one involved a traditional enabling works contract to refurbish the building shell and reconfigure the office accommodation. This was completed by Parkeray contractors.
Phase two of the project has now commenced. This will involve extending and converting the remaining floor space into a 79 bedroom Travelodge Hotel.
These works are being implemented under a Design and Build contract by Willmott Dixon and are due to complete on site in July 2018.
