Yesterday Kirklees Council Planning committee granted Planning approval for 127 dwellings on the newly designated residential land in Birkenshaw, Bradford, adjacent to Blue Hills Farm.
The development steps up from Whitehall Road in a series of plateaus with public open space and play areas designed into the layout. The layout incorporates 39 one and two bedroomed apartments together with 88 one, two, three and four bedroomed dwellings, 26 of which will be affordable homes and incorporates 6 wheelchair accessible bungalows.
The site is part of the Blue Hills Farm Estate and was reallocated from Green-belt to Residential use when the Kirklees Local Plan was adopted on the 27th February 2019.
The team was led by Richard Gee of Roman Summer Associates (Planning Consultants and designs prepared by RGP. The application team also consisted of Via Solutions (Highway engineers); Bowland Tree Consultancy (Arbouricultural); Ecology Services; ARS (Archaeological assessment) GIH (Heritage assessment); Beets Associates (Flood risk) and REC (Air quality and acoustics)
