RGP have been proud to be associated with the YMCA Movement over many years, involved in delivering a number of development projects, and also particularly involved in a voluntary role locally, nationally, and internationally.
We have over many years, supported YMCA work, and for Christmas 2015 we will be making a donation to Blackburn YMCA projects in lieu of sending out Christmas cards.
Blackburn YMCA is a part of a World Movement and provides support throughout the East Lancashire in three main areas:
- Accommodation and support for young people
- Programmes for young people
- A project for the integration of refugees and asylum seekers into their communities
The accommodation of young people is a major YMCA programme in England, where nearly 10,000 beds are provided every night. Blackburn YMCA is a part of this, providing accommodation within the communities of Blackburn and East Lancashire for up to 40 young people.
YMCA is the largest and oldest youth charity in the world.
From our beginnings in England in 1844, we’ve grown into a global movement, helping more than 58 million people across 119 countries.
Since our earliest days, we’ve been supporting young people and their communities. Last year our 114 YMCA’s in England impacted on the lives of nearly 600,000 people across more than 530 communities, delivering a host of services including accommodation, education, training, youth clubs and health and fitness programmes.
Together we provided nearly 10,000 beds for young people every night. We intensively supported over 228,000 young people, and helped nearly 43,000 people engage in education, skills and training, to enable them to improve their opportunities in the job market. We proved before and after school activities for nearly 37,000 children, and over 33,000 young people attended YMCA youth clubs.
