RGP are delighted to confirm that our proposals for Liberty Properties have secured approval to build a new 630,000 sq.ft National Distribution Centre in Appleton, Warrington, for Eddie Stobart Logistics alongside their existing campus.
The facility, earmarked for a 40 acre site on Barleycastle Lane, will create 600,000 sq.ft of warehousing with 20,000 sq.ft of office accommodation and a separate, standalone 10,000 sq.ft vehicle maintenance facility.
Councillors approved the scheme in line with officer recommendations; who argued “compelling very special circumstances” existed to allow the development to go ahead on Green Belt land. Once completed, the development is anticipated to create 480 jobs for the local economy.
Over the past two years RGP have worked closely alongside developer Liberty Properties, planning consultants Avison Young and multi-disciplinary consultants Ramboll to develop the proposals and secure the consent.
