Liberty Properties and wet wipe manufacturer Nice-Pak International have secured planning permission for a 400,000 sq ft manufacturing unit at Westwood Park in Wigan, with 100 new jobs in the pipeline.
The successful application to build on the redeveloped Westwood Power Station site was submitted at the end of October. Work on the project, which will be the largest building ever-built in the borough, is expected to start later this year.
Once completed 150 staff will relocate from Nice-Pak’s existing space in Hindley Green and a further 100 jobs will be created at the new site.
The development has, in part, been funded by the government’s Regional Growth Fund. Wigan Council provided support.
