Project Description

As part of the renewal of Middleton Gardens, the aim was to improve the existing Middleton Shopping Centre, which was in need of refurbishment. We extended the shopping centre towards the new bus station in order to provide four new retail units with a total floor area of approximately 4593m2 of gross external area at ground, first and second floor level.

The main mall passing through the building was also extended and upgraded at the south and east ends as part of the development. A new façade has been provided to both the new extension and the entrances to the mall at both ends. The design also allows for future extension of the centre to provide further units at ground and first floor level. The design intent of the new scheme was to create a high quality environment in keeping with the new bus station and Middleton Gardens.
